Each Crafty Birds course is priced differently depending on the length of the course, and the project you will make. The price you pay reserves you a place at each weekly session, full use of machines and equipment in the studio, plus the kit you need to make the project.
PRICING OPTIONS
We have different prices for the Children’s and Adult Beginners courses. When you browse them, you will find that for most of them, there are two prices to choose from, which will affect the kit you receive.
Please ensure you have read about the Parrot and Peacock price options before booking your place on a course.
This is our lowest cost option. On arrival to session one, you will receive an essential kit. This includes your pattern pieces, thread, a large fabric swatch for practise samples, plus items such as interfacing or fastenings if they are needed for the item you are making. You will bring your own fabric, and will find advice on what fabric to bring on the course information page.
If you’d like to take the hassle out of bringing your own fabric, choose the Peacock option and Crafty Birds will add your fabric to your kit, along with the essentials, for a slightly higher price. You will be sent images of fabrics to choose from after you have booked, and in advance of session 1.

Many people want to learn to sew, but are often held back by the expense of starting a new hobby. At Crafty Birds, all machines and equipment is provided; the sewing machine, overlocker, fabric scissors, chalk, and more! All we ask is that you bring a pot of your own pins, which you can pick up in the supermarket, fabric shop, or Amazon, for as little as £1. So, you can dip your toe into the world of sewing, before committing to buying any equipment to have at home.
Sewing doesn’t mean having to buy new fabric all the time. Reusing unwanted textile items work just as well, and reduce our carbon footprint! Bed sheeting, large sized men’s shirts, or summer maxi dresses can all be cut up and sewn back together to create something new, beautiful, plus with a story behind it, particularly if it came from a keepsake item.
