On Tuesday evenings, between 6pm to 7.30pm, Crafty Birds holds group sewing sessions for teenagers to learn how to make clothes. You will work on your own individual item of clothing, chosen by you, rather than a project chosen by us. You will receive one to one help throughout the session, to help you learn how to make your item of clothing.
The clothes making technique you will learn is through the use of patterns (templates) rather than draping on the stand (using a mannequin).
Attend as many or as little sessions as you wish. Simply book the sessions on the dates you wish to attend by clicking the button below. Each session is priced at £15.
WHAT CAN I MAKE?
Either choose one of the items shown in the images below, or choose your own item to make
If you choose an item from the images below, you must purchase the pattern (template) from Crafty Birds in advance of your first session, by clicking here (opens in new window)
You are welcome to make a different item of clothing, and again, must purchase a pattern (template) before attending your first session. If you need advice on how to do this, complete the form below, and Anneka at Crafty Birds will be in touch to clarify everything!
Fabric is not included, but things like zips, buttons, threads, etc are. You must purchase your own fabric following the advice on the pattern you purchase. If you need advice on how to do this, let me know on the form below.
Sessions are priced at a lower than usual price, to reflect the absence of fabrics.
